Citizen Participation in Management

Citizen participation is the exercise of the constitutional right that citizens, groups or collectives have to intervene in the decisions made by the entities that comprise the State. According to the Administrative Department of Public Function, participation can be promoted by Entities in the development of their policies, plans, programs, projects, regulations and procedures, or can occur on the initiative of the citizens themselves.

To exercise this right, Migración Colombia has provided information related to the spaces, mechanisms and actions for citizen participation. The foregoing aims to strengthen the Entity's relationship with citizens, generating greater public value in management and process development.

The structure of this section is as follows:

  1. Participation for the diagnosis of needs and identification of problems.

  2. Participatory planning and budget.

  3. Citizen consultation.

  4. Collaboration and open innovation.

  5. Accountability.

  6. Social control.

How can you participate?

The different citizen participation processes are carried out based on a methodology that takes into account the local approach. Information about the dates and places where they will take place is disseminated through Migración Colombia's social networks.

Considering the conditions of the territory, sometimes the population is convened using mass media, loudspeakers, telephone calls to value groups, depending on the prioritized topic.

The citizen participation mechanisms available through Migración Colombia are the following:
